Robin Hood Foundation’s Executive Director brings extensive background in business and philanthropy

BRISBANE, CA – September 7 – Mode Media Corporation. (, the leading vertical social media company with the largest online global reach in lifestyle, today announced the appointment of David Saltzman, Executive Director, The Robin Hood Foundation to the company’s board of directors.

David Saltzman was one of Robin Hood’s five founding board members in 1988. The Robin Hood Foundation, an all-volunteer organization started with $52,000 in assets, has grown it into an institution that has raised and distributed more than $1.2 billion to fight poverty in New York City. He is also the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Excellence Boys Charter School of Bedford Stuyvesant and the Excellence Girls Charter School of Bedford Stuyvesant. Additionally, he serves on the boards of the Trust for Governors Island; the Brazelton Touchpoints Center, and the Relay Graduate School of Education. Previously, Saltzman had served as a member of Mayor Bloomberg’s Commission for Economic Opportunity, and was a founder of NPower, a joint effort of Microsoft, JPMorgan Chase, Accenture and Robin Hood to improve the effectiveness of non-profit organizations through technology.

Saltzman has received many accolades for his contributions to society, including having been named to TIME magazine’s 100 Innovators. He has also received an honorary doctorate and the John Hope award for distinguished alumni from Brown University, as well as the Global Leadership Award from Columbia University. Saltzman earned a Masters of Public Policy and Administration from Columbia University and a Bachelor’s degree from Brown University.

Saltzman joins fellow Glam Board Directors—Marc Andreessen (Andreessen Horowitz), Tim Draper (DFJ), Theresia Ranzetta (Accel), Fernando Ruarte (Co-Founder & CTO, Mode Media) and Samir Arora, Glam CEO, Co-Founder and Chairman of the Board.
