Jack Rotolo
Jack Rotolo, CEO
Jack Rotolo is CEO of Mode Media. An early member of the executive team, Rotolo  built the company’s North American sales organization and later managed operations both in the U.S. and internationally. Rotolo is widely recognized  as part of the team that established Mode Media as a top 10 media company (comScore) in the U.S. and helped grow the company (formerly known as Glam Media) to become the largest lifestyle property for women. Mode was one of the first media companies to build a network of curated global lifestyle sites where Rotolo aggressively grew revenue and market share while expanding the company’s key lifestyle categories. Under his leadership, the company partnered with some of the world’s largest brands to pair them with proprietary creators and influencers through innovative advertising and content marketing programs. Prior to Mode Media, Rotolo held executive positions with Apple, PepsiCo and NetObjects.
John Small
John Small, Chief Operations Officer
As COO John C. Small is responsible for managing day-to-day business operations and, along with the senior executive team, implementing procedures to help Mode reach our next major level of growth. Small brings over 20 years experience on Wall Street in technology, media and telecom managing IPO’s and M&A as well as corporate development and strategy. As President and Senior Asset Manager at GLG Partners in New York, Small managed public and private investments for telecom, media, technology and renewable energy from 2000 to 2011. Prior to that he was at Ulysses Management and Odyssey Partners. Small started his career at the investment bank Morgan Stanley.
Fernando Ruarte
Fernando Ruarte, Executive Vice President, Co-Founder, Ad Platform Engineering & CTO
In his role as EVP Native Ad Platform Engineering and CTO, Fernando Ruarte oversees our proprietary ad-serving platform, Adapt. In 2010, Ruarte led the development for the Adapt platform that enables the distribution of ads across the Mode ecosystem of over 6,000 publishers. Ruarte also led the technology and delivery of our programmatic marketplace. A seasoned information technology executive, Ruarte has over 20 years of experience. Prior to joining Mode, Ruarte was a vice president of engineering at ViaFone, NetObjects, Extended Systems, and SIF. He was a member of Mode Media’s board of directors from 2009-2015.
Victor Zaud
Victor Zaud, Senior Vice President, Co-Founder and Creative Design Director
As SVP and Creative Design Director, Victor Zaud oversees the creative direction and design for Mode Media’s corporate identity, as well as Mode’s portfolio of ad products, consumer editions and consumer properties. Prior to Mode, Zaud was the founder of the strategic design and technology firm, Zaudhaus, where he helped conceive, shape, design, and build some of the most notable technology products in use from companies including Arena Solutions, Dell, J2 Communications, Microsoft and PureStorage. Prior to Zaudhaus, Zaud was the Director of Product Design at NetObjects, a leading Web-Authoring Software company, where he was responsible for the development of NetObjects Fusion. Prior to NetObjects, Zaud was a principal designer and business consultant for The Understanding Business (TUB). He started his career in Apple’s Creative Services department on projects including the introduction and definition of Desktop Publishing and Hypercard.
Raj Narayan
Raj Narayan, Senior Vice President, Co-Founder, Consumer Products Engineering
Raj Narayan oversees the Consumer Products Engineering division at Mode that designed and built the core architecture of the Mode platform. Prior to Mode, Narayan developed the first page-layout editor for the Web and holds two key Internet patents. His work has enabled more than 10 million websites and over a million e-commerce stores. He worked as a principal engineer at NetObjects, Ibizu, diCarta, and Zaudhaus.
Elizabeth Thompson
Elizabeth Thompson, Senior Vice President of Creator Business and Operations
As SVP of Creator Business and Operations, Elizabeth Thompson is responsible for sourcing, negotiating and optimizing the ongoing value of strategic partnerships and creating, launching and growing new lines of business. Thompson is a seasoned digital executive with 20 years of experience across business development, strategy, partner management and operations spanning media, technology and telecom at both large, established companies and early stage startups. Thompson started her career at Genesys where she managed Channel Partnerships through an IPO and acquisition by Alcatel.
Amy Kopp
Amy Kopp, Vice President, Consumer Product, Content & Editorial
Amy Kopp leads the consumer product team and is responsible for Mode.com as well as the Mode Stories app. Kopp also oversees Mode’s editorial team and 6,000-plus content creators and influencers. In addition, Kopp manages the company’s ad products portfolio and monetization across the site, including building sales-facing performance-analytics dashboards. She has worked as a project leader on projects at Adobe, Yahoo, Looksmart, International Museum of Women and Poken.
Michelle Langandaon
Michelle Lagandaon, Vice President of People
As Mode’s first Vice President of People, Michelle Lagandaon is responsible for leading our global HR function and focuses on driving culture, employee development, leadership and the overall organizational people strategy. Prior to joining Mode, Lagandaon spent over 15 years in various Global HR executive and leadership roles in the Financial Services, Property Management, and Fitness industries. Lagandaon has a true entrepreneurial spirit and has owned several of her own companies. Throughout her career, Lagandaon has worked in several markets including Europe, China, Japan, Canada, Australia and Mexico. Her strengths are in organizational development and culture. Lagandaon has a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Communications and a master’s degree in Human Resource Management.
Yusuke Akiba
Yusuke Akiba, CEO Mode Media Japan and Senior Vice President Mode Media Corporation
As CEO for Mode Media Japan, Yusuke Akiba is leading the go-to-market strategy, delivering innovative branding experiences for Japan’s leading advertisers and agencies. Akiba is a digital media and advertising pioneer. Before joining Mode Media Japan, he was Country Manager of Aegis Media Japan K. K. (Dentsu Group) where he oversaw all of the Aegis companies including Carat, Vizeum, SPI, iProspect and Isobar. Before taking over Aegis Media Japan, Akiba was CEO of Carat Japan K.K. where he led the successful restructuring of the company to optimize for growth, as well as created the company’s first digital discipline. Earlier in his career, Akiba worked in various positions at leading advertising agencies, including Beacon Communications (Starcom), where he oversaw such massive brands as Philip Morris, Gucci, P&G, Gap, and Sun Microsystems.
Jane Loring
Jane Loring, General Manager, Mode Media Europe
Jane Loring is responsible for managing Mode Media Europe including Sales, Creator/Editorial, Marketing and Ad Operations. A digital sales veteran, Loring was most recently Director of Specialist Sales at Microsoft Advertising one of the leading digital teams in the UK. Under Loring’s watch MSN was nominated for Media Week Sales Team of the Year. Her focused expertise on Women in Digital began at handbag.com where she was responsible for commercial strategy and driving revenue to profitability that ultimately led to the sale of the company. Prior to that, Loring spent ten years at IBM technology sales before entering the digital space.
